Goals By Week

  • For Saturday, February 17th
    • Chelsea: Concept Document, Milestone Document, Algorithms for 3 attributes, Extra Enemy designs, 1 level layout minimum [Got everything but .5 level layout, did some musicy stuff too]
    • Ben: Coding MIDI attributes [Got halfish MIDI attributes]
    • Sascha: Modifying bone structure of character, animation, etc.
    • Gordon: Loading models and manipulating them. [Can load models//sorta manipulate them]
    • Robert: Prototype Zyk Model [Has bones?]
    • Melissa: Concepts for all terrain plus 1 or 2 finalized backgrounds [Finalized monsters]
    • Nate: File output and input for levels. Level formatting [Got XML for levels]
    • Kevin: Functional Spec, Skeleton stuff, Game game stuff. [API, stubs, pretty UML. Good.]
  • For Saturday, February 24th: (GAMEPLAY PROTOTYPE)
    • Chelsea: Get firmer algorithms for MIDI stuff, two week breakdowns, backgrounds for areas, test level when level editor is finished.
    • Sascha+Gordon: Push a key, bone reacts, yay
    • Ben: Push a key, hear music, see something react to music
    • Kevin: Create game game with moving dot
    • Robert: Get a model that loads
    • Melissa: Forest tileset
    • Nate: LEVEL EDITOR —- ability to create basic level, load, save, XMLy stuff.
  • For Saturday, March 3rd
    • Chelsea: Music, levels, design, final documentation, level editing
    • Kevin: Creature AIs, adding new creatures (Wound up doing Astar and some other complicated stuff instead, also getting camera to track with the Zyk)
    • Sascha: Figure out how to handle colors, hopefully one animation (Figured out colors. Incorporating code into SVN n'stuff for major/minorage)
    • Gordon: Communication with MIDI data, certain things change (Figured out how to animate!! WOOOO!)
    • Ben: Finish algorithms, create Music Lab (Going to have to tweak them again, sigh)
    • Nate: 2D sprites drawing in 3D, getting on SVN, 3D model support, (Did super stuff)
    • Melissa: Items + Environments (Awesome, Kewl)
    • Robert: 3D model MAKE IT WORK, Get an animation for it. (STILL MUST DO THIS)
  • For Sunday, March 11 (Techno Prototype)
    • Gordon: Animate the Zyk
    • Chelsea: Make levels yay, also music, also graphics (backgrounds, yes), make menu windowy thingies for the music lab interface (Result: Failure. Made some levels, but didn't have items to complete them :()
    • Melissa: Make 3D models of items yay, and also do stuff with the Music Lab background.
    • Nate: Get sprites to draw. Placeholders for everything.
    • Ben: Perfect the music algorithms (attack, fierce, tough)
      • MAKE SURE ZYK IS LINKING TWO HALVES (Result: sorta got it…attributes are now added correctly in the lab, so when the other side is ready, the lab is too)
      • Link float values to level values in attributes (0 - 4 + ultimate) (Result: did it)
      • attack, fierce, tough, (make sure key/color is working correctly) (Result: tough alg imperfect still (it's tough! rofl at lame joke!), fierce and attack good, color not sure)
      • Modify ALL for cutback balancing (the level of one attribute cuts back from 1 other attribute) (Result: done… check if group likes system)
      • make sure Zyk stats are linked into Zyk model (Result: no go… We need to do this in meeting, as it is important for prototype!)
    • Sascha: Colors for Zyks. Work with the Level level so we have a really nice test level by Technical Prototype.
    • Kevin: Get a super cool testy level (with wata)
    • Robert: Golly darn, please get a model.
  • For Sunday, March 18 (Yes, this is spring break, I know)
    • Melissa: Boulders, Walls, Boards
    • Nate: Water, reading in old levels, breakability, loading in 3d models, beacons, boulders, player start location, enemy placeholders, resizable sprites
    • Ben: Fix pattern recognition, Brush up on the Gamegame
    • Sascha: Loading levels easily, color stuff, slanty tiles,
    • Chelsea: Level backgrounds, level design, interface design
    • Kevin: Collisions, slanty tiles, level loading,
    • Robert: Continue animating.
    • Gordon: Make it so that music lab reflects what happens in the game.
  • For Sunday, March 25 (This is the end of spring break but hopefully we'll be here)
    • Gordon: Get a textured Zyk.
    • Robert: Have a finalized Zyk with lots of animation
    • Kevin: Bug destruction!!! "prebalancing"
    • Chelsea: Have a niceish website up and running (Either that, or just make the wiki pretty!)
    • Sascha: No idea. Will get to it.
    • Ben: Fully functioning music lab with UI.
    • Nate: Particle engine.
    • Melissa: All items complete, coincide with backgrounds.
